While I typically photograph adults and older children, it was quite a refreshing change of pace to have these little rugrats infront of the camera for an Edwards Gardens photography session & some family fun time!
Our beautiful little models weren’t so much into the idea of posing; rather, they wanted to run and play! I followed suit and thankfully was wearing running shoes because keeping up with these two isn’t easy – the amount of energy was incredible! Our session started off with mom and dad putting the finishing touches on the little ones; they had to get Daphne’s bow in her hair but Xavier wanted one too. No, I shouldn’t say it that way – Xavier didn’t want one, he was adamant about having one. Needless to say, we had a few shots of Xavier happily showcasing his beautiful hairpiece.
As we walked through Edwards Gardens and Xavier started to notice all the streams, bridges and flowers he quickly discarded his haut-couture hair accessory and opted for exploration. Xavier decided to pick a flower for me… and another one… and another one. Daphne wanted to pick flowers too; although she picked up a flower, plucked off the leaf (discarded the flower) and gave me a beautiful green leaf. Adorable.

Glamour & Portrait Photography vs. Lifestyle Sessions: If you’ve followed my blog closely you’ll know that I’m a professional wedding photographer with a subspeciality in glamour and beauty portrait posing – this means that my style of photography is directive; I will work with my client to provide gentle guidance in order to achieve poses that not only flatter them but accentuate their natural beauty and personalities. When working with little ones, like in this family session, posing is limited to sitting or standing while looking in a particular direction. Although little ones of the pre-school age group don’t take posing direction in terms of posing, it’s always so much fun to spend an evening with them and capturing their adventure of that day. I hope you enjoyed this lifestyle session and the story it tells!
